Taiwan announced its net-zero commitment on Earth Day in 2021. The following year, the National Development Council announced the "2050 Net-Zero Emissions Roadmap" and 12 key strategic guidelines. In January this year (2023), the "Climate Change Response Act" was passed, and in August, the launch of carbon exchange is demonstrating Taiwan's determination to move towards net-zero emissions.
