Affiliation to the Local Community Helps to Bolster Social Concern

The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation has dedicated itself to charitable causes in the Yilan area for many years, especially in the field of education, where it has invested a lot of resources to assist in the cultivation of local talents. For more than three decades, the Foundation has benefited thousands of students in Yilan County with scholarship programs and grants that have gradually expanded. The Foundation hosts Poem Recitation Competitions, confers the Lin Teng Literature Awards, and the Lin Deng Cultural and Educational Foundation Yilan Elite Cultivation Program. It is committed to providing Yilan students with greater educational resources and ensuring their education is on par with major cities and international standards, and creating a sustainable cycle of giving back to their hometown and communities.

Encouraging Athletic Talent Development – Basketball & Baseball

The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation began to carry out its Baseball Team Cultivation and Sponsorship Program – Wood Bat Baseball Team and assisted National LoTung Industrial Vocational High School to establish its first “wood bat baseball team” in Yilan. To encourage the players to perform better on the field, in addition to the fixed annual sponsorships, the Program also invested resources to help improve their equipment, nutrition intake, training venues, and coaching resources. The Yilan High School Basketball Team is also under the long-term sponsorship and support of the Foundation. Through professional coaches and equipment, the players have been provided a nurturing environment to actively participate in large and small competitions with peace of mind on funding constraints. In addition to winning awards and gaining a sense of achievement, this will also aid students in their future academic studies and educational aspirations.

Simultaneous Advancement of Mathematics, Science, and Languages

To promote the “Mathematics and Physics Elite Program” and the “English Communication Enhancement Program” The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation has spared no effort in nurturing the children of the Lanyang Plains. It provided funding to sponsor National Lan-Yang Girls’ Senior High School to implement the English Communication Enhancement Project and established the Lin Deng English Education Resource Center on campus. The program includes after-school English speaking class, Chrome Book integrated English Teaching, Lin Teng Cup National High School Vocational English Speaking Contest, and study abroad scholarships. After-class English speaking classes are taught in English to strengthen students’ English communication skills. The Foundation has donated 100 Chrome Books and purchased charging storage cabinets to comprehensively enhance the students’ English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. For National Yilan Senior High School, the Foundation is promoting the Mathematics and Physics Elite Project to help students improve their mathematical abilities and actively participate in various competitions such as the International Mathematical Olympiad. The students of Yilan Senior High School have also achieved good results in the competition.

Implement Adaptive Education and Promote the Yilan Elite Cultivation Program

The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation Yilan Elite Cultivation Program was established to encourage students in Yilan to freely develop diverse talents. As long as the individual or group of students proposes innovative ideas and compelling plans in various academic fields such as mathematics, science, technology, literature, history, arts and sports, they can apply for financial aid and subsidies. Since the expansion of the scholarship program, many programs have been approved so far, with a cumulative amount of more than millions. In addition, to improve students‘ literacy, the Foundation also continues to hold the Poetry Recitation Competition. All public and private high school, junior high school, and elementary school students who are registered in Yilan County or are studying in Yilan County can register to participate. The winning prize is NT$20,000, which will inspire students to learn and understand classic Chinese culture and literature works.

Accelerating the Group's "Dual talent program"

There is a modern minimalist piece of architecture located at Yuanshan Township, Yilan. This is the Yilan Employee Training Center (YETC), built by the Group by integrating resources of Goldsun and Taiwan Secom. Opened at end of 2016, the YETC stands beside Danjin Road together with the Danshui Employee Training Center (DETC). Not only do these buildings act as the conduits to the Group‘s talent nurturing goals, but they also showcase the Goldsun’s efforts and achievements in developing construction materials. With the Lin-Deng Culture and Education Foundation contained in the same building, the YETC is living up to the late founder‘s love for and his desire to give back to his hometown by caring for disadvantaged families and students in Yilan.

Integrity is the cornerstone of sustainable business growth, win customer confidence with quality.” This mission statement, along with photos of Mr. Lin Xiaoxin, President of the Group, as shown left of the lobby. The entire building along with the DETC, the existing group employee training center, not only practice this mission statement but also facilitate group employees for training and resort in Yilan. The YETC is a perfect combination of Goldsun‘s expertise of construction materials and SECOM’s monitoring system, electronic locks, and access equipment.

Contemporary minimalist building with integrated resources by Goldsun and SECOM

The YETC is three storeys tall with a front-back architecture on 4416 square meters of land. Opened for operation at the end of 2016, this minimalist style building contains the lobby and the Lin-Deng Culture and Education Foundation at ground floor, employee canteen and library at floor 2, and multi-function rooms and theater-type classrooms at floor 3. The interior design style, from the floors, walls, kitchenware, to bathroom equipment, showcases Goldsun‘s ultimate presentation in innovative concrete and materials, especially the application of “pre-cast” concrete construction methods. For example, the exposed concrete wall in the lobby features a portrait of Mr. LIN Deng, the founder and Mr. LIN Xiaoxin, the Group President, on the surface of either side of the wall. They are made with concrete by formworks specially designed and manufactured in Germany based on photos sent to the manufacturer from Taiwan.

Precast VS. Color floor demonstrating creativity in concrete and construction materials Color floor is another eye catching innovation at the YETC. The diversified aesthetics presentation can be seen everywhere from the basement parking lot to the lobby, employee canteen, and library. The materials are imported by Goldsun from the United States with construction personnel and operators also receiving proper training there. The whole process from cleaning, maintenance, to construction, plus moisture-proofing and scratch-resistant finishing, takes at least seven days to complete. Its features include seamlessness, easy cleaning, acid and alkaline resistance, and 10,000psi strong pressure resistance along with a finish including cloud, gradation, or even embedded picture, logo, or even a statement. Both the exterior and interior of the entire building balances beauty and practicality while showcasing the Group‘s development into the large-scale construction material industry.
